A key focus of the museum is to create and display dynamic and educational anthropological exhibits about people and places throughout the Americas and around the world. Permanent exhibitions include Footsteps in Time: Four Million Years of Human Evolution–an introduction to humankind’s long history; Ancient Egypt, showcasing rare Egyptian artifacts over 3,000 years old; the Children’s Discovery Center, where kids can dress up in ancient Egyptian costumes and see an Egyptian mummy adorned with royal jewelry; and Kumeyaay: Native Californians, where traditional Kumeyaay lifestyles are preserved and presented. Hours: Daily, 10:00 am–4:30 pm Directions: From east or west: I-163 South, exit University Ave. Go straight on 6th Ave, left on Laurel (El Prado), cross the bridge and the Museum of Man is the first museum on your left.
