Located in the heart of Balboa Park, The San Diego Museum of Art's nationally renowned collections include a fine selection of European old masters, important American paintings and sculptures of the 19th and 20th centuries.  Offering opportunities for learning, introspection, and connection with cultures from around the world, it is the region’s largest fine arts museum.  The Museum is also home to the Edwin Binney 3rd Collection of South Asian paintings, one of the most significant holdings of such works outside of India.

Hours: Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00 am–6:00 pm
Open 10:00 am–9:00 pm on Thursdays
Closed: Mondays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day.

Directions: From the north: I-5 S to Sassafras Street (Airport exit). Continue to Laurel Street (stoplight). Turn left and follow Laurel Street over the bridge into Balboa Park. The Museum is on the left-hand side (North end) of the plaza where the road dead-ends.
From the south: I-5 N to Sixth Avenue exit. Turn right onto Sixth Avenue and continue to Laurel Street (stoplight). Turn right and follow Laurel Street over the bridge into Balboa Park. Follow directions from the north.
From the east: I-8 W to State Highway 163 South. Take the University Avenue exit and, making no turns, you will be on Sixth Avenue. Continue to Laurel Street (stoplight). Follow directions from the north.
From the west: Harbor Drive to Laurel Street (Laurel Street begins at Harbor Drive). Continue on Laurel Street over the bridge into Balboa Park. Follow directions from the north.
