Airplane and history buffs won’t want to miss the San Diego Aerospace Museum, housed in the historic Ford Motor Building from the 1935 California-Pacific International Exposition.

You'll find a reproduction of the Wright Brothers 1903 Flyer and other models of early flight.  Try your hand at the Wright Flyer simulator and see how you would have fared at Kitty Hawk. Marvel at the antics of the barnstormers and relive the history of aviation through airmen’s experiences of WWI and WWII. Imagine what it’s like to travel into space as you get a close up and personal view of NASA’s Apollo 9 Command Module. Daily Restoration Tours show you just how much work has gone into building or reconditioning the museum’s planes and engines.

Hours: Daily, 10:00 am–4:00 pm
(Free admission to all on the 4th Tuesday of each month)
Closed: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Directions: From Interstate 5 S: Take the 10th St. exit; turn left on A St.; turn left on 12th St. (which becomes Park Blvd.); turn left at President’s Way (you are now in Balboa Park); when you come to the stop sign, the Museum will be to your left with parking right in front.

From Interstate 5 N: Take the B St. Pershing exit; stay on B St; turn right on 12th (which becomes Park Blvd.); turn left at President’s Way (you are now in Balboa Park); when you come to the stop sign, the Museum will be to your left with parking right in front.
